From 26 to 29 September 2010 at the Sheraton Maui, Hawaii, the American Flame Research Committee offers an excellent opportunity for engineers and scientists from industry, research establishments and academia worldwide to have technical discussions on a variety of topics. For the event, the AFRC International Pacific Rim Combustion Symposium, the Conference Chairman Dr. Richard Waibel has published a first call for papers. Technical papers are solicited from industrial companies, research organizations, universities and others engaged in research, development and commercialization of technology for improvements related to combustion, pollution abatement and energy utilization in industrial furnaces, boilers, process heaters, incinerators and flares. Topics of interest include:
A special effort is being made to provide sessions dealing with: Emissions from Flares, Oxy-Fuel Combustion, Particulate Matter Emissions Control of Greenhouse Gases. Papers discussing issues relevant to regulations and compliance, development of measurement methods and/or standardization for monitoring and reporting of emissions, health and environmental impacts of emissions, source receptor relationships and air quality impacts, fundamental and applied research on emissions reduction, and/or energy efficiency improvements and case histories of CO2, NOx or particulate matter reduction and/or energy efficiency improvement projects are of interest.
