AFRC Spring Meeting 2002

The American Flame Research Committee (AFRC) have made the first announced and call for papers for their Spring 2002 meeting. The meeting will be held on May 8 - 10, 2002 and will be hosted by Natural Resources Canada in Ottawa.

The theme of the meeting is ‘Fuel Selection Issues for Industrial Combustion Processes - Meeting Environmental & Economic Objectives ‘ with the main areas of focus being:

  • Industrial and power boilers
  • Steel reheat furnaces
  • Glass melters, cement & lime kilns
  • Process heaters & flares - oil refineries and gas processing plants
  • Combustion turbines & co-generation

Papers related to the above areas, which address issues such as innovative equipment, combustion optimization, technologies for lowering emissions, greenhouse gas reduction, numerical modeling, co-firing and reburn, non-traditional fuels, waste and renewables, are currently being sought.

Abstracts (single-page) should be submitted by November 30, 2001 to:
