What is the “Combustion Trend for the Future”?
The importance of TOTeMs to this service…

This week we are occupied with TOTeMs 19 and 20 and thus Combustion Trends for the Future.

The “Combustion Trends for the Future” is one of the main services provided by IFRF NET to its members. It aims is to develop concepts of short and medium trends in acquiring information by IFRF .NET and disseminating this information to its members through the IFRF ONLINE Combustion Handbook and The IFRF Members Research Projects.

The objectives of Combustion Trends for the Future are:

  • To identify and to verify the information requirements of each Member Organisation
  • To acquire information from other sources if it already exists and publish it in the Handbook
  • To define technical goals for the Members' Research Projects.

To achieve these objectives, IFRF .NET organises the TOTeMs to review the technical information related to combustions topics of the meeting.

In this regard, TOTeM 19 and TOTeM 20 will be held this week on 11th and 12th of June 2002 in Akersloot, The Netherlands. Full details of the TOTeM programme can be found in the Combustion Centre, Meeting Service, at:

Information gathered in the meeting will be published in the “Combustion Trends for the Future”. Papers presented in previous TOTeMs have been published at:

Papers and posters presented in TOTeMs 19 and 20 will also be published in the “Combustion Trends for the Future”. We will inform you once it is published.
