1 Joint Committee fixes 4 TOTeM dates

At last week's IFRF Joint Committee Meeting, themes and dates were fixed for the 16th Internal Members' Conference in 2009 and also for the next four Topic Oriented Technical Meetings (TOTeMs) with the Topics: 'Oxyfuel', 'Ash', 'Rotary Kiln Combustion', and 'Furnaces for the Metals Industry'.

2 Dutch Flame offers Combustion Award at Combura 2008 Symposium

The Dutch Flame Committee (NVV) has announced that it will award a Euro 1000 prize (The "NVV Combustion Award") for the best Masters thesis presented as a paper at the 2008 COMBURA symposium.

3 Events Calendar Updates

Two new items have been added to the IFRF Events Calendar this week. They are  the 7th European Conference on Coal Research and its applications, a three day event at Cardiff University in early September, and a BFRC/IOP meeting on 18 September entitled Alternative fuels and combustion strategies for internal combustion engines.
